| Glad to be back it has been busy down here. You wouldn't think that the nation is headed for recessions in texas. Everybody is still spending as fast as they can. I hope the above info can possibly pertain to what you all do in your area. |

| Its about time to resurrect this topic as the temps are starting fall and its sounds like some people are geting out and doing some calling. I have worked up a load for my .243 and am ready to start calling when the opportunity arises. On the topic of calling/hunting predators, does anyone have any new info they would like to share? I see on another post that coons can be called in - I have not done that and it does sound interesting. I was real close to head up into the mtns last weekend to try calling in a bear, but I found out that I had already purchased all of my elk tag allotments (dont ask - its a REALLY long story). So I am going to look into that option in the future. Anyone ever call in a bear?

| Yes as a matter of fact we used to call them in Arizona. Just used a destress call....really interesting when a bear comes in, instead of a coyote...lol. Tom

| Tom, I shot my share of bear, but never called them in. Is there one distress call that is better? I'm thinking of hunting Wyoming spring bear and calling one in up there.

| We just used a rabbit distress call, both fixed and open reed. Gerry Blair, of Arizona predator calling fame has a couple books and videos out that show and tell about his exploits... Basically get in an area they are feeding in (higher bear density) and set up with the wind in your face...
