Last I heard the state and cornhusker regional duck were going to be held at Cabelas along with a goose, also last I heard it was supposed to be sometime in September.
But on the other hand, also heard it was upin the air if there was even gonna be a state/cornhusker duck this year. Who knows.... |

DCAN will again be hosting the State Duck, Cornhusker Regional, and hunters’ amateur duck.
At the last board meeting, we were still working out several details. At this point, I believe the contest is scheduled for the first Sunday in August. This is subject to change based on sponsorship commitments. We have several individuals running down leads, and we cannot finalize any plans until this information comes in. I will be trying to schedule a board meeting before the 4th of July. I will pass on any information I can, but rest assured. The duck calling contests are on for this year. So get to practicing. As a board member, and secretary, I will do my best to answer any questions regarding DCAN and what we have in the works. Regarding the Secretary bit - (Don’t ever space off when they are pointing fingers and handing out titles. As a general rule, the quarry does not seem to get a choice.) One final note: If you are already a member of DCAN the board appreciates your support. If you are not already a member of DCAN, and would like to know more, please get in touch with me. We are always trying to increase the good we can do for waterfowlers’ in our area. We are a grass roots groups that spends its’ dollar right here. So if you are not member, please join. (FYI - our membership is quite low west of Lincoln. It would be very nice to see some central and western waterfowlers come on board.)

Here is one down in Mo at Rogers sporting goods. If it wasn't as far as a drive for me I might be willing to go give the Novice a try.

Beings the Rogers contest is going on the same day as the grandslam in KC. That open duck would be as tough as any regional out there...unless the last regional at the grandslam on Sat is still going on durring the 6:00 starting time.
