Default Spring Snow goose reports 08

Spring Migration is confirmed.

The hotel in Geneva has a computer so I will get reports posted but probably not everyday. Mainly depends on how tired I am when we get out of the field and what time we finally get back to the room.

So on to the first report...

Abunch of Canadas have been seen today heading North in my area. And reports of a strong northern migration of little Canadas in central Ne. Got a phone call yesterday that Snows were spotted out west. My Texas scouts tell me that Specks and some Snows were seen high and headed North yesterday...but on the other hand...Ross and Juvies were seen still heading south. He did mention that they usually see the first Specks heading out usually a week earlier, but the fact remains its been DAMN COLD. I expect when the weather finally does break the geese will be playing catchup fast.

We had some snows and specs mixed in with some of the canadas we shot today. I worked until about 11:00 last night in the Hastings area and the snows were flying North all night.

Why do ya gotta be that guy?

Forecast is calling for cold temps to return, that should put a slow on things. Buy the time the weather breaks Ill be ready to rock....if it breaks to early I will just hafta head to Geneva early for alittle practice before the show.

Nice push of canadas and a few bunches of snows the last 2 days coming from the south to the platte river. Snow melting fast. Couple of nice days is all that it takes. Canadas were pretty easy this A.M. but no snows in range. Cold temps should stop it in place.

Well this crap weather that just blew in this morning should put a halt to that. Kind of crazy how much the weather has changed in just one day.

Friday can't come soon enough. Seriousness starts then for me. A lot of work the last few weeks getting everything ready, but it is go-time.

Good Hunting,

Picking them up in the AM!

I hate the weather man right now. Went from predicted 50s this weekend in the States south of us to 7 inches of snow. Might not be getting my snow fix this weekend. O well, there is always more work to do on the dekes.

Good Hunting,
PATRICK OLSON
