Thats right im bored. Tourney gives me something to look forward to.
We need more tourneys!
Willow creek near Pierce would be perfect. Place is overrun just like Calamus but at least the fish avg 10 lbs.

cant wait till spring already
Ok Ty have you shot at Willow Creek during the month of July. Your right we do need one but we want one with clear enough water to shoot in. A mid month shoot would be great but I have never been to Willow Creek so I guess a scouting mission is in order.
Sure would be nice to have a July shoot...hell...maybe you should start one.
You need a pretty big body of water to have a shoot on, get 15-20 teams out there and water shrinks quick, then the shooting SUCKS. Look at what happens at Desoto lake.
night shoot next year in July: calamus, sherman, any of the SW reservoirs, meritt, harlan, any KS lake???? there are some good choices out there, it will just take a bit of a travel to get to anything big enough for a good shoot.

I agree 100% with Sorny!!
If Harlan has Buffs I say do it there!! I have never been on the water there except to duck hunt so I dont know what the lake has for fish.
There would be ALOT of shooting at Calamus but he fish are dinks and the lake association would be looking for thier cut.![]()

vote night shoot somewhere
Is a dad again.
water clarity isnt that good at Willow but its full of carp. It would be a good place. Its also very big and the boat traffic doesnt effect the fish at all.
cant wait till spring already
it's 700 acres which puts it 60 acres smaller than desoto. It would be fine for a few boats, but a tourney??? Maybe a short 4 hour tourney or something but 8-10 hours, it's not big enough.

Harlan is 13,500 acres. Thats plenty of room to spread out, and I think the carp are bigger in there than on Calamus.

I agree with Maze, just have it sponsored by someone else.

I know from taking carp at Harlan, if you just line the rocks with shooters you can get a lot of big commons...They line the whole face of the dam at times. Not to mention below the spillway and in all the coves and tree lined areas now that the water is up. Tom

How can we stop that lake association for the Calamus tourney?
Can BON do anything about this and do their own tourney there? F$$$ them guys!
cant wait till spring already
I would think if anyone wants to do a tourney on a public lake, the lake assoc. cant say anything about it. Especially if they dont have to work at it to put it on. However, I'm not sure.........
Does anybody know where our entry fees go when we pay $30-$40 bucks a team only to get so little in return?
