took a tour of a few basins today. still 100% frozen on the basins I went by. Saw some canadas setting on the ice and a flock of ducks crusing the blue river, but thats it as far as waterfowl.

Saw a large string of snows west of York. The platte valley had a few big flocks of white geese mingling in with all the lessers. Too bad we filled out before we could get a crack at some snows.

Snow numbers are building in several areas here in Kansas. Much higher numbers than I ever remember for the first week of Feb. Could be an early push north without tougher weather to hold them back. Took the day off from work and found myself in a great pass-shoot setup this afternoon with the wind howling out of the south. Hated having to leave with geese still moving but had to get the kids from school. Ended up with 17 SOBs and 3 Canadas.

Hunted down in Mizzou Fri and Sat, and saw some good numbers. Saw alot more migrating up on Sat but nothing huge yet. Highlight of the trip was shooting around 40 in the first hour Friday morning in 3 flocks...all at about 20yards. Ended up with 62 for the two day trip. Saw alot of Juvies Fri, but all the migrators we saw on sat were all adults. Its on!!!!

Strong work in Mizzou guys. I spent most of the day sat. outside finishing up with the prep work, and only saw flocks of Specks and Canadas. No Snow sightings in SE Nebraska yet, but we saw some whites out west on Friday.

Of the 62 I believe only 5 adults were shot. Had we been able to get on the x, woulda been stupid crazy but working under the flightpath proved worth it. Roost was holding close to 300,000 snows as of Saturday and a nearby waterhole which was void of birds when we arrived thursday had close to if not more than another 100k on it. Like Joe said, leading edge of adults were moving in on Saturday, 10 or so flocks so nothing too crazy. Staged birds were probably 60-40 in favor of juvies. Gettin close.

James, Nice Work. I noticed the dry field in the pic. Thought that had to be handy.
