Last I heard was that the west side of the bridge was wide open and that there was some ice left on the east side but it was unsafe. I might drive by there on the way to work!

good luck on the east side.....you would have better luck fishin the open water...just cause the ice is gone doesnt mean the fish are. Slip bobber works great.... just bait it with a wax worm and tear drop...
thanks for the tip. i just got my ice fishing gear this year and i wanna put it to good use before the ice is gone. im gonna stop on my way back home from school and see if i catch something. i've had bad luck locating fish. if you see someone fishing by that stage thing that me
.
Went by there yesterday and the west side had just a little open water where the geese were and the east side was iced up but the ice didn't look very good. I have never even marked a fish on the east side while ice fishing and I have been all the way around the lake. Catch them over there during open water though. Not sure what the deal is with that!
If you get on the ice, BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!

well i got on it today around 3pm. i was where the stage is. well lets just say i jumped on it like crazy just a few feet from the bank and it didnt break lol. i was gonna make a hole to see how thick it was but no luck. i know my blades on my auger are sharp but for some reason i could not drill through. the more i pushed on the auger the more the auger would slide all over. i dont get it i was there 2 weeks ago and i was drilling through 10 inches of ice. it was like i was drilling with no blades. after 30 minutes i just drilled 3 inches deep and i gave up. i am 100% sure my blades are sharp.

sometimes that will happen when the ice gets bad then freezes again! Not sure what might have been going on. I'm not going to press my luck again this year on any local waters. Might give Sherman one more try and then I'm going to start hitting open water.

well i tried the pond i went last monday and same thing happen could not drill through. wich is strange because i drilled just fine monday. oh well i guess this ice fishing season is over for me. if someone desides to go out and wants some company give me a heads up i guess. you may have better results with a power auger.
