    Default Aurora Tornado

Filmed a bunch of tornadoes on Wednesday, including the monster near Aurora. Have over an hour of tornado video, though I have not yet been able to go through it all but I do have a breif clip online... YouTube - 2009 Copyright Dustin Wilcox Storm Chaser Tornado Grand Island

Man, that's some great footage! I couldn't imagine being there. Tornadoes are a fascinating, scary phenomenon.

That is some great video Dustin!

That storm got started right over our house. My son and I chased it after we heard it went Tornadic. We went east out of Amherst on 175th road and we could see the wall cloud but by the time we got to HGWY 10, it looked like it had gotten rain wrapped and I opted to not go any further since I had my son with me. The video shown on the news had some local chasers going down 175th, 5 miles east of Kearney with a Tornado on the ground! I should have kept on going!!!!!

Yeah you couldn't have missed them by much, I was somewhere North of Gibbon I'd guess 8 or 9 miles, JUST East of hwy 10 when I filmed the first tornado, I'd put it somewhere just East of Pleasanton, have a breif video of the first and second tornadoes here severechase.com 6/17/2009

It looks like Severe Weather season will be winding down, not that it ever really got cranking to much; pretty queit season for most of the state. As we get into the summer there will still be a severe weather event here and there, but not day after day like we can often see in the spring. Now we just get to enjoy the spectacular heat and humidity....

I have seen most of your pics and vids and they were AWESOME!!!

I should have just kept going but when that thing showed signs of getting wrapped in rain, without any guideance(radar), I didn't really feel like punching through the rain and getting a surprise on the other side! I did see some other pics that showed the tornado on the ground with that rain curtain behind it. It looked like the pic was taken looking west and I would have been coming from the west. Guess I could have dropped south and back east and then I would have been OK. Need a little better radar than what I get on my cell phone before I try anything crazy!

That's why I live my chasing DREAMS through you PRO'S!!!!!
