Josh as new tournament director I would prefer it if you had a partner, but won't force you to this year.

Josh is just being cocky. He doesn't want to split the pot with anyone IF he manages to win by himself.
I've got the day off if anyone needs a partner. Poor college kid doesn't have a boat and would like to shoot this one.

No I just dont want to commit to a partner and end up not going at the last minute. Besides that things seem to just go smoother when Im alone or just me and the kid.

The only reason I can think of why would be safety of being on the river by yourself. Other than that I guess its up to the person, from 1 to 3 people i guess.

No one is disqualifying or forcing anything on anyone. But it is something we'll have to look at. I know Josh knows what he is doing and safety isn't a concern with him. But looking at the overall tournament we'll have to at least discuss this for future events.
