    Default Fish Fry

Eric and I fished Willow today looking for walleyes, but found the eater cats instead.
Beautiful day to be out, and tomorrow promises to be even nicer! Eric got on a roll and was pounding them hard for awhile. (I manned the cheering section for the most part of today).

Eric had a pole stand up and proceed to go down the hole. He made a ten yard dash and looked like a wide receiver diving for an end zone catch,... hit the hole perfect,.... went in up to his shoulder,........then saved the pole AND caught the fish!
    HELL OF A CATCH MAN!

Here's a pic of the cookers we kept.

We've got 20-24" up this way. Plenty of fishing time left.

No more spuds,...we both went to power augers. Ice just gets too damn thick up here.
I set up my lil pop up blind with my lil buddy in it this evening. Nice and warm, and I can still fish 2 or 3 holes OK. I think next year I'll be in the market for a flip over sled shelter'.
Man,...they sure are proud of them things! Anybody hears of some good deals this spring, let me know.

Caught a few nice gills and a couple crappie on the gulp alive waxies (forgot my worms again). I could only get a bite when jigging the stuff tho'. I left it sitting still on the same jig a foot away and they wouldn't hit it.

Hey Whisker check out the Minneapolis craigslist for shelters, seems to be some good deals on there, don't know if it would be a cheaper route logistically but just a thought. Been using the same bag of power grubs for 2 years with no luck!
