| Ok I was on Archery talk today and they were talking about Jay Gregory at the NBA Banquet in Kearney this past weekend and his views on deer seasons and management compared to Iowa, Kansas,Illinois etc.. as far as hunting during the rut ,I know the rifle hunters are going to scream but in the long run it would benifit us all rifle/bow muzzle in more, bigger deer .Now from an economic stand point from the state side I personally dont think they would see that big a drop in revenue by moving rifle season and what there was would probably be made up 10 fold in 4-5 yrs when the out of state money catches up. Yes I know that opens up a whole new box of arguements from sportsmen but the people who in reality set this stuff are mainly concerned with bottomline and yearly average income as you`ve probably gathered I`m a bowhuhter but I think we would all vote For BIGGER deer I know that would definantly be a benifit from my point of view . I`m not naive enough to believe this will make any difference but just wanted to hear some input |

| This argument will come up every year. I do believe that the system that we have now works. As stated by rem 700, proper game management will ensure the current system will work for years to come. IMO, I do not see this changing any time soon.

| Didn`t mean to start a pissin contest as far as weapon of choice Nor would I consider myself selfish or ignorant although its almost funny how that comes up when theres a difference of opinion I just would like to kill bigger deer without paying out of state fees Good luck during rifle season.... |

| I don't understand. Allow bowhunting during second week of November because... it will help grow the herd? Make the antlers bigger? I don't get it. There are too many deer now so we should move the rifle season to make sure only the bowhunters who all have good motives shoot the correct size deer? If people are shooting all of the 3-5 year old deer where you hunt then you might need a different hunting spot. Where I hunt there is a 10 point buck that I wouldn't mind taking. All of the bowhunters have spent the last month stalking it. If they get him before I do that's the breaks. |

| I get it. I don't see anything but benefits from moving and extending the rifle season. Move it out of the rut and give them a longer season. I like the doe before buck as well. This will be enforced by the NGPC if things don't change. IMO, it is obvious what they are doing now is not working. Again, access problems contribute to the high # of deer. I see more and more farmers/landowners complaining about the deer, yet lease their land out to 3-4 guys who only hunt the 9 day rifle season. Lease next to us is 1500 acres, 9 guys rifle hunt it. They took 2 deer last year. And that landowner complains b/c the deer are eating his hay. I'm no expert, but I think I can see why the problem occurs.
