Default Finally buying a Duck Rig/bowfishing rig

Well Josh convinced me I am getting a 1860 welded jonboat with at least a 90hp motor in the next few weeks, I am likely going to go with a Mercury Optimax but wanna check out an evinrudew etech. I am still trying to decide on a boat, I like seaark but dang they are kinds of pricey 9800 without motor, I like the Grizzly and also the roughneck. I considered buying a used one but don't want soemone elses problem and I want a warranty. Anyother boats I should consider?

How about a war eagle, beavertail, polarkraft......my buddy had had a express for years and it has seen some thick ice on the Jersey shore with no punctures.

SeaArk or G3. I have a 98 1860 G3 and it has held up great.

Last time I was in KC Cabelas had a 2072 lowe with a 90 optimax on it. I think they wanted somewhere around 16k. They are not cheap.

Seth if you want to take a look at the 1860 it'll be sitting at my parents this week. I'll be putting the blind back on it in a couple weeks or so too. Its the 1860 grizzly the 'older' version but it has a bunch of room on/in it. The 'newer' grizzlys that I looked at are VERY similiar but they are well refined compared to the one I have.

The G3's are also a nice boat I looked at them on the web but never got the chance to see one in person. I orignally was looking at just the 16' G3 before.

The outboards your looking at are all good but also don't be afraid to look into a honda outboard too. (depending on the prices)

One thing I will suggest though is once I get the blind set up on the boat you'll have to stop by and take a look at it to help you decide which route you want to go with for a blind configuration. Also an early teal trip on the MO to mess around could be fun too..

*edit* fyi it was on the MO river a week or two ago and going down river it was at 21mph and up river was around 18mph.. Not maxed out at all just a nice cruising speed and it has a 60hp Merc on it.

I got a new 1860 grizzly this spring and it has been a great boat so far. It has had the piss beat out of it and it keeps on going. I have a tiller boat so there is tons of room, even with the huge bowfishing platform. We can comfortably shoot 4 people off of it. I don't think you can go wrong with grizzly.

Sorny
