Oil spill

I'm tired of the "Bush did it" on the left and the "if this had been Bush" on the right. I can't listen to Rush, Laura or any others when that's all they can come up with. Life isn't fair and never will be....quit your whining!

Back to the oil spill. I'm glad Obama hasn't used this to further his green energy quest and is still supporting offshore drilling. Hopefully the oil companies will use this as a learning experience and the gov't won't use it as an excuse.

Watched three people with valid methods of cleaning up the oil spill/slowing or stopping it....Neither BP or the White house would give them an audience......yet all three had great idea that they demonstrated and they worked.
  3. Willhuntforfood Well-Known Member

Did you see the hay method? I saw a couple guys demonstrating that and was pretty amazed. Would take a lot of hay to line the coast but luckily thats something they do have in abundance down south.

Here's an idea...How about British taxpayers and the British Government chip in on the cleanup? Afterall it is a British owned and operated company.
  6. ArizonaNative Member

Because that would limit total liability to the USA, which would limit the ability for B.O. to take over the company, put on his hard hat and play "big oil man". Or so the conspiracy theorists say...

I'ver been gone and just saw this post from the POPE. Nice response but there is no substance. Why don't you get some material, old or new? Why don't you think for yourself and quit being a ditto head? Better yet why do you worry so much what I think?
  8. choclab Member

There you go listening to the radio boys again. Been done by every President. There is no scandal here at all. Just the radio boys playing to the ditto heads.

I heard one of your radio guys saying this was the first time in history a President did not go to Arlington on Memorial day to lay a wreath. Seeems the ditto heads followers ate that up without researching the recent past. But did anyone expect more out of the ditto heads? You do realise there is more than one National Cemetary don't you? Maybe take a trip out to Mcpherson some day. Usually D Day is formally recognized on certain anniverseries not every year. Now I'm sure you were told by one of the radio heads to make sure to be critical of Obama for not going to Normandy but if you look at the past Presidents you will see they didn't go every year.
  9. Pope & Young Member

No Substance? This coming from you....who has literally never posted anything of substance. I was asking you to list all of Obams accomplishemnts vs. playing the same old blame game & this is your response?

Come on Choc - you have got to be real proud of your current crew...Obama, Reed & Pelosi....Just stand up and be proud and talk about the great things they are doing...that's all I am looking for out of ya!

Unfortunately, all I will probably get back from you is the lastest excuses, blame game strategy & talking points from MSNBC. Oh well, when you got nothing that's what I would expect anyways. Just get's a little boring is all!

Seeems like every time you post here you go back to the same ole routine with the same ole question. I've answered it many times for you POPE. This thread has nothing to do with Obama's acomplishments. But since you can't come up with anything other than the talking points of your radio guys, and can't think on your own you come back to your same ole question. One thing I will tell you is he has not put us into the greatest economic recession and gone on tv telling us the economy is fundemntally strong. He has not invaded a country for who knows what reason now and on top of that given tax breaks to the rich. Now there is where your massive deficits are coming from POPE, but of course you'll ignore that and blame Clinton or someone else. Now go ahead and send me another of your threatening IMs. At least Muddy can argue even tho you can get his arguments off the radio. (smile) I have yet to get a threatening IM from him.

Him reducing the restrictions on stem cell research so that abortion farms can start operating. Anybody wanna sell a fetus? Last but not least... The Health Care Reforms.

I'd say 10 outta the 90 on there are an actual accomplishment....for some reason meeting for lunch with other country leaders, redecorating the White House, having the first Jewish Seder(separation of religion and state) and many more don't really seem like accomplishments in my opinion.

Looks like I was off by a billion on the stimulus in my earlier post. I guess I better retract that one. Sorry I'm just really not that impressed. He promised change. Me being an average American, I thought it was going to be change for the better not the worse. As far as the oil spill goes I doubt that Obama will really have any kind of impact on what happens as far as cleanup goes. I think those decisions are better off in the hands of Ken Salazaar, USDA, and EPA for starters.

    Accomplishment list (summarized)
    1. Makes a vague perfunctory statement quickly after an issue arises.
    2. Authorizes staff to watch news outlets for public response.
    3. Orders a review of original statement.
    4. Initiates a rewording of original statement for political gain.
    5. Utilizes opportunity to bash Bush.
    6. Distracts and deflects criticism with populist anger.

Call me picky, but I expect real leadership from the President, not just perpetual campaigning.
You don't need Rush to recognize the pattern of inability.

No where did I say it was mine! There you go again jumping to conclusions. It is good to see you can research on your own. Thought maybe you could not read or something to that effect. You can't even tell the truth. Train dogs my ass. You're not even man enough to discuss issues without stooping to low level threatening IMS. Next you'll probably send some sophmoric response like telling me your johnson is bigger than mine. I look forward to another lame response from the POPE.

As for the others I said you wouldn't agree. You are entitled to your opinions as I am to mine. You may be right or I may be right. Differing opinions is what made America the great country it is.
  18. Pope & Young Member

Choc...you seem a little sensitive so I will let it go. I am glad to see you are proud enough of the all the POTUS accomplishements to copy and paste that very "impressive" list as your response

Also, Sorry you misunderstood my IM 6 months ago about getting together to discuss politics....didn't mean to upset you. Although I didn't ask you about dog training in my IM....the offer still stands. We can just agree to disagree on the politics and train dogs. How about it? We can always use a few more bird boys so let me know...

Shooting fish in a barrel regards,
    P&Y
