Default Ten Mile Lake MN

Anyone have any experience on Ten Mile Lake in the fall? We are heading up the first of October and I have never been there.

We were there last fall for a three day weekend. We stayed at the Ten Mile Lake Lodge which I think is the only resort on the lake (are you staying there as well?).Anyway, EXCELLENT smallmouth bass fishing..............from shore!!! There is a culvert that goes under the road big enough to drive a 16' or smaller V hull through from the north Ten Mile to the South ten mile or vice versa. Alot of pannies and crappies in the channel, but for the smallies go to the south side of the channel and fan cast a Zara Spook straight out and work it back to you, stop and go, twitch and sit, walk it back fast.....you get the picture mix it up and you can tear them up there. (Take plenty of Zara Spooks because I broke off my only one the last evening on a fish and lost it, no other lure came close to producing the amount of bites the Zara Spook did). The first light and last light are by far the best but my son and I caught many smallies there mid day as well. Mid day we also turned the rocks over for crayfish and everytime when we found a crayfish put it on a plain hook tossed it out we caught a smallmouth. My father and brother went out onto the lake and fished a couple of "humps" and came in with 6 nice eye's so they are there as well. The locals seem to think the lake is more of a rough fish lake which it may be compared to most in the area, so it doesn't appear to get too much pressure which was fine with me. Even though we fished the weekend we only had a few others stop and fish the channel. Watch your credit cards though, I used mine at the resuarant and local Walmart there and when I came home fraud security called to ask if I went on a spending spree 6 different stores in Minnesota and Wisconsin had large orders pending on my card #. Thank goodness all of the orders were all made on a Monday morning in a short period of time (15 min) and the fraud team was able to reach me and stopped all of the charges and cancelled the card#. Goodluck on your trip and please post your results after you get back, i would like to hear how you do. Thanks Kevin.
