Id love to apply for one, but I have not a clue how to snag a paddlefish. Do they surface and you cast over them, or do you drag a hook along the bottom?

I would, but I have no boat that is river-worthy.

There are just as many people on shore snagging as there are in boats,...maybe more this year since a lot of people opted for two archery tags instead. It's not too hard to get in someones boat either. Well worth the experience if you've never done it!

Just cast from the shore. I have been doing that for all of my snagging tags.

Anyone got a link to where you apply on-line? Can't find it. I've been going over the NGPC website & can only find the download apps. for snail mail.

Buddy permits for the little lady and I this time. I'll make her a redneck yet! I have always snagged from shore and have had no problems filling the tag.

I decided that I'm going to just focus more on waterfowl season, I got some new HOT land that I got access to. Ill try for the archery permit next year.

seriously. Its WAY easier from shore. Damn boats are always getting you snagged. At least from shore you can just cast straight and usually got lots of help to get it on shore.
