Finally had an early season hunt where everything worked out. We had clouds, wind, GREAT hide, and a field full of birds. Birds had been loafing on a pond on the same section as the corn and that was our only concern. Pulled up about 2 and the birds were not using the pond, PERFECT. Birds had been flying out the last few days about 7pm but today felt like an early night for some reason. First bunch was headed for the decoys at 5:05pm. 9 birds banked PERFECT in the wind and were within 5 yards of the laydowns inches off the ground when we called up the shot. Cleaned up the entire flock. Perfect start for a perfect day. Big flocks wanted to land behind us but we had a few bunches do it absolutely perfect. Ended up with 31 birds between the six of us. Tried getting a few action shots but it was pretty cloudy and I had dead birds on the mind. Had to do some editing on Paint, cant give away any pointers ha. Enjoy!

P.S. The painted on Mustaches were the ticket.

After this ridiculous argument in the Success thread I started thinking..... A Clay county CO says it's illegal to setup at midnight and then wait in the truck til sunrise to hunt. I have seen lots of people do this and I have done this almost every year for the openers for a long long time. Never occurred to me that it may not be legal. I tried researching it to see if it was illegal and I can't find anything in the NE or Federal laws that say it's not legal. Anyone have any idea where I can find this info? A buddy of mine brought this same topic up to me today and couldn't find any info on it either.

NE Waterfowlers, Time is running out to change History. Mo. River Migratory Habitat

You still have the opportunity to express your thoughts on the eight authorized purposes of the Mo River and how the MRAPS process should proceed....

You still have the opportunity to express your thoughts on the eight authorized purposes of the Mo River and how the MRAPS process should proceed. It's critically important that the COE hear from you. This is the first opportunity to affect change on the river and have the Missouri River managed in a more fish and wildlife and environmentally friendly way that will also benefit recreation and people throughout the basin. Go to: http://www.mraps.org or http://www.mraps.org
comments will be accepted through September 20th. The survey only takes a few minutes to complete and your comments to the COE are very important. We need to take advantage of this opportunity as a waterfowling community.

1 barge in the last 7 years has come up the Mo River in Iowa's 147 mile stretch. Some wish to continue to have the river managed for navigation and it is that management that has cost Iowa & NE waterfowlers 188k acres of wetland habitat. We can change that guys by making our opinions known that recreation and wildlife habitat managemnet should be a higher priority than navigation management. Pure and simple. If you want to see more back waters restored, more wetland habitat along one of our historical migratory corridors now is the Time to speak up and speak loudly!

Again pass this on to your friends and family. EAVERYONES HELP IS NEEDED HERE TO RESTORE VITAL MIGRATORY HABITAT THAT HAS BEEN LOST.

Well I don't know who else is questioning this weird 2 day speck season on Feb. 4-5, why it is not a little later in the snow season. The reason being it is 2 days before the snow conservation season starts and the bag limit is 1 per day. So who is going to drag all of their stuff out in the field in the start of Feb. to freeze you butt off for one speck per day? Not me. But wouldn't it make more sense to make it a little later in the snow season? If you don't agree with this you can call the gentleman who is responsible for setting the dates. This is from a very good source and with everyone's help hopefully we can make a change in the dates of this season. His name is Lynn Berggren and his phone number is 308-872-6684. Everyone should call him and voice your opinion. Thanks Happy hunting!!!

I have a Lexan stencil that I have used for many years and never had any troubles with it. Stenciled many boats and blinds with it. This year I tried something different and stenciled some burlap. I think I may have made a terrible error. There are a million tiny fibers stuck all over in the paint on the stencil and it's has made the paint somehow bond with the stencil. It has been several days and the paint hasn't got stiff so I can break it off the stencil.

Anyone ever have this problem or have any ideas on how I can get the paint off? I don't wanna use mineral spirits or thinner on the lexan. I considered freezing it and trying to chip it off while it's frozen but I don't know what that could do to the stencil either......????
