Well I had a total blast. Everyone shot a ton of fish. Best part of the weekend was Keith S.'s drunken rampage at the bar or perhaps TEAM DIESEL taking down 2nd place.

Team Diesel HA! From some of the stories I've heard, if Force Feed wouldnt have bad luck he'd have no luck at all!

I seriosly dont know how Kieth did it. HE was so hammered, then to shoot fish all day long in 100 degree heat while battiling waves from pleasure boaters all that combined would make me want to

I think if all of us do it again next year we need to stay at 1 hotel and party it up the night AFTER the tournament!

It was good to meet everyone and to put faces with names!

Well, we made it up Saturday morning and we got to meet Yellab, Sorny, and Maze. Enjoyed that but it kinda went downhill after that.

After we got on the lake, we had some motor/gas problems and didn't even get a shot off.

That's how it goes sometimes I guess. Looking forward to the next one now and we know that we have no where to go but up.

Had a good time meeting everyone and seeing some familiar faces! was fortunate enough to win while shooting with my 16 year old brother( my regular partner had to work). But he had a blast, fell in the lake, and he shot really well! He has braging rights now, I shot the Huntingne tourney with my 24yr old brother Joe and got second in his first tourney, But Jake got a win. Nice meeting some of you guys, and we will see ya around.

Steve, it was good to meet you and your F-i-Law as well. We hope to see more of you.

As far as the motor/gas problems hopefully it wasn't anything too serious and you can be back on the water soon.

At least you didnt put Diesel in your gas tank!!!!

Well I supose it's my time to chime in here. Once again this was a great time. It allways is in Burwell. Had lots of laughs with fimilar faces and some new ones too. Keiths drunken rant was second only to the mistake of team diesel on saturday morning (Come on Rich time to own up to that one!!!).

We ended up third with 100 lbs. and did a lot of shooting and missed A LOT of fish too!!! It becomes frustrating shooting small fish in deep clear water. We didn't shoot a fish in the last 2-3 hours because the wind died and our patern went to hell. This killed us. We could have taken second, but first would have probably still been out of reach. Had a great time and I am looking forward to next spring!!!!

Sorny

Hey I hope everyone had a blast at the Calamus Tourney. I have been swamped with work and haven't even made it out for fun much this month. My dad called on Friday and said he saw a bunch of bowfishing rigs going through Albion. He described some of the boats. Brett, did you go through there? One of the boats sounded like yours. Anyway I hope the weekend was a good one and I hope to catch up with some of you guys if you're ever in the Yankton area. Otherwise I'll just have to make time to shoot more tournaments next year.

Calamus carp

Nebraska anglers and archers took a record 9,586 pounds of carp out of Calamus Reservoir near Burwell during a recent tournament.

The angler team of Curtis and Stacy Koehler of Fremont hauled in the largest carp at 8 pounds, 10 ounces. Brothers Robert Turek of York and Tom Turek of Kearney placed first in hook-and-line with 623 pounds of carp.

In the archery division, Kevin and Laurie May of Fremont shot the largest carp at 7 pounds, 2 ounces. The team of Brett Schuler and Jake Koenig of Yutan finished No. 1 with 226½ pounds.

Found this in the Omaha World Herald. Sounds like a lot of trash was cleaned up out of the lake.

Matt

I should have turned in my carp. He said almost 7 on my scale. Who knows about theirs. Oh well.

Maze took her down with authority........... and Keith took down the Crown with AUTHORITY!

I was told about that article, but I haven't seen it yet.

With all those fish taken 2 times a year you'd think you would be making a dent in their population, but you're not. There are so many carp in that lake it's unbelievable.
