man it was a rough day, We didn't find the fish until around 1:30-2:00 and when we did they were kinda spooky. They were finally up sucking cotton and in large schools, you would only get 1 shot then the whole bunch was gone and you had to go find more. We only shot 4 fish with a total of 20 lbs. I shot two that were at 7 lbs and then a couple of 3's. Got up this morning and went to head out on the lake. We ran from prairie view boat ramp to the dam and dropped the troller in and it didn't work??? Worked fine all day yesterday and today it crapped out on us before we even used it. It's only 2 months old. I am going to have to get it taken some where and hopefully it will be fixed by this weekend so I can make it up to Yankton!!! Thank god Burwell has decent bars and cold beer or the weekend would have been a bust!!! Sorny

We were seeing plenty of fish. The problem was hitting the little 1 or 2 lb'rs. The wind was out of the east and all we did was cruise the east shore line. I cant say we had lack of shots. I thought i was on a roll early. The first 3 shots had scored every time. After that I was back on my usual game, of missing fish. Although it seemed when I let Laurie shoot first I would take a shot on the run and score. I missed them sitting there, but I'd hit them going 20 mph......I dont get it. Laurie did good too. She had 2-3 in the boat and another 3-4 get off the arrow before they got to the boat. I hate to admit this so keep it quiet..... she made a couple back up shots for me when they were beating hell out of there. Unfortunatly all but 1 got off the arrow. We ended up with 9 fish weighing a total of 20#

As Force Feed said earlier.......you dont go for the prize money. You go to shoot at tons of fish. They could have a better turn out, if the pay out was better. Maybe a bowfishing association could help with that also.

Well here is the break down on prize money... $59 was the first place check which seemed odd to me since 2 years ago it was $67 with 5 less teams. I guess the lake association either messed up their cut 2 years ago or this year. The calcutta paid $219 for first place The side pot paid $140. So first place paid a total $418 We had $322 in expenses to do the tourney so there you go. I do like the idea of the side pot for this tourney.
