Yeah you don't go to this shoot thinking about the money because there isn't any You go because when its good you will shoot nonstop all day. Funny thing is they could get such good sponsors for this and the money and prizes would be fantastic but noone there goes to all that trouble. Its a pain to put one on and I think there is a new guy organizing the event so maybe he would be receiptive to suggestions and ideas. They do alot of work though to put it all together with the dinner and auction and calcutta and weigh in and it is a fund raiser for the lake association. I wish they didn't have the guy at the auction always being the first one to bid on your team so to buy your team you always have to bid higher than him I don't like that. Only one way to do things different and that is to run it yourself. Maybe we should start our own side pot. Like $10 a team and winner takes all.

I understand what you're saying about the whole lake association thing. They could still get sponsors, have a pay out and keep a chunk of some of the money for the lake association. I'm sure it's a pain to run a tournament. Like you said the only way to run it better is by doing it yourself. That's a good idea! I'd be in for the side pot action!

These tournies that are held in Nebraska would benefit from an association like what we have talked about in the past. A bowfishing association in Nebraska could be a simple thing to do and I have been giving it some thought. It also adds weight when talking to different agencies and tournament organizers.

I posted this same post under the reports thread, thought I would post here as well for the benefit of you going to the tourney. I am going to pass this year unless someone from Lincoln wants to go and is willing to buy the gas! Shot Calamus this weekend. High sun and nearly NO WIND, and oh yeah, THE SPAWN IS IN FULL SWING. Carp were really getting their freak on (as well as another couple down by the boat ramp that I had no choice but to listen too.) Millions of 1.5 pound fish to be shot.(Shoot, Reel, Shoot, Reel, Shoot Reel, rest, drink beverage, Shoot, Reel, Shoot, Reel, Shoot, Reel, Rest, Drink Beverage, Shoot, Reel. etc. etc. etc.) If your picky you can find fish up to about 6 pounds with a very occasional 7 pounder and a once a day 8 pounder. Saw a nice little Musky and also a Pike that would have weighed 12 pounds or better (obviously didnt shoot them).

well it looks like the weather should be all right, so far. I have my fingers crossed that the forcast will hold. I am going to have a rookie in the boat so hopefully we can get him plenty of shooting.
