Default reel vs. bottle

I'm in need of a new reel. Shot at something and smoked mine. So was thinkin about a bottle, but really like a spinner, but have had problems before and would like to eliminate them, if possible. For those of you who have shot a spinners and bottles, what do you use most?

What could you have possible shot that would have ruined your reel Keith? Please share.

I've shot both and I'll take a spinner over a bottle any day!

I shoot the oversized bottle and am very happy with it.

I basically learned on a bottle after upgrading from a drum style, so that was a pretty big upgrade.

Last year I wanted to try out a spinner. Went to BassPro, bought a 808 Bowfisher, the mount, screwed it on, replaced the line with fast flight, shot an arrow and was very disapointed with the flight of the arrow. Granted, I wasn't aware of the sprays at that time, which probably would have helped, but still wasnt happy at all. Then I reeled in, hit the button and the line caught something and promptly sheered both of the pins of the 808 right off. So, I was done for the day. I figured, well, I must not have pushed the button, even though I swear I did. So I drove the hour plus back to Bass Pro, bought another 808 Bowfisher and long story short, it lasted about 3 shots before I sheered the pins off of that one as well. So, now I am down $60 in reels, $10 in fast flight and however much the seat mount cost and am no better off than I was when I started.

That is why I shoot the bottle. Just my personal preference.

Hmmmmm, what happened?

Buy a bottle so I can outshoot you 2 to 1 on your shots when its hectic.

I love my spinner. Heck I had the same arrow on all year long until you robinhooded that beeatch on that grass carp. I have no problems. Only reason I bought a new one last year was I beat the crap out of it and busted the handle off. My fault. Otherwise I cant remember really having problems. Also dont remember not pushing the button. I always keep the drag down light just in case but still it hasnt happened.

But then of course what the hell do I know............ ive only been doing this for 3 years now. These guys on here have way more experience.
