I connected once early on, could not fill the second tag though a couple shots were awful close. Saw several fish taken by others, couple others that got off arrows...

About time I see one posted.

After looking at the weather further they are talking not only "breezy" conditions for the next 2 days but also a chance for T-storms on Wed so Im not gonna head up tomorrow morn.

I do think Im gonna head to the river around here tomorrow...$30 trip is more attractive than a $200 trip. Think Im gonna go to a place I havnt been to in about 2 years though.

Couldnt they just be bowfishing for rough fish up in there? Its always nice to see if any carp are sucking on the crap thats in the slack water. Personally im not heading up there to just shoot a paddlefish. I want some practice for Calamus in the coming weeks too.

Call your local office. I have been told (when I called a few different offices, the years I was tagless) that it is closed to bow fishing period during padldlefish season. It also says in the book,,...page 21.....

yada-yada-yada,......except for a closed area downstream from Gavins Point dam that extends from the east end of the south cement wall of the discharge channel to the east end of the north wall of the spillway.
The area downstream of this line is open to archers taking both game and nongamefish during the appropriate season,
It reads in black and white to me. I doubt the CO was taking pictures of piping plovers. Y'all do what you want.

Locked both tags today before 9:00 a.m.
It started out looking real slow, just like Saturday. Besides my boat, only Eric’s boat and one other on the tailwaters this morning. Wind was down and the temp was comfortable. Took four shots and made two of them count.
Weighed them at 34.6, and a 26.7.
(Got ahead of myself and cut the snouts off before taking the pictures! D'OH)

I’m pretty happy to get it done on one tank of gas, but I'll still be up next weekend trying to put some friends on the fish.

Nice fish Whisker! I had two pull-offs, but never really got a good shot at a decent sized fish...
