We'll give a go at the run down here. First pic is the first bird of the season. after setting up and watching them all morning with no response to calls, they decided to head into the heavy brush (i'm assuming due to the high winds). we stalked back through the thick waste high (to me) brush and were finally able to spot a shadow in the thick stuff 25 yards away. we eased to the ground and this ol boy stepped out in a little opening and went into full strut and that was the end of him.

next picture is actually the third bird. went out a late morning with his grandpa and i. again, very windy. zac thought he heard a gobble so he told me where it was. i decided the canyon i figured the bird was in to stay out of the wind. we tucked under some cedars and i called a few times over 15 minutes and this ol boy showed up. came into the deeks and he was done. 3 generation hunt that day.

last pic is his 2nd bird of the season. we took off and go to our hunting spot and figured out i'd left my pack at home that had pretty much everythign in it, including the calls. evening time i was just calling with my mouth and heard this guy across the river. i was able to call him across the river. he stepped out but skirted our set up......but he didn't skirt far enough away. all three real nice toms.
